G and J in ArgentinaG and J in ArgentinaG and J in ArgentinaHi everyone! Welcome to my blog and my first post. You can read my About to get a little more info on me, but the skinny is that this blog will be all about food – making it, eating it, searching it out, figuring out what to drink with it, enjoying it, thinking about it, ordering it at restaurants, talking about it, dreaming about it, and loving it.

It stands to reason then of course that there must be lots of travel, lots of cooking, lots of drinking (responsibly!), lots of eating out, and lots of fun to accompany all this crazy food obsession. Along the way, my fabulous fiance Josh will be my most constant companion and best friend as we eat and drink our way around our town, our region, and the world.

I will also bring along an assortment of colorful characters like my beautiful and adventurous Mom who agrees, not begrudgingly, to eat, dine out, and cook new things with me, my friends (like Dawna who has broken my carnivorous heart by being a vegetarian who nonetheless eats salami), and my fiance’s incredibly talented, successful, and delightfully eccentric restauranteur family.

And sometimes, you’ll just get me – eating out, tasting wine, failing abysmally at new recipes, and talking to my cats! I promise not to bore you too terribly.

Unfortunately, I’ve started this blogging thing so late in the game that I’ve missed countless opportunities to give you of-the-moment posts on numerous winery trips, restaurant visits, and travels, most notably our trips to Argentina, New York City, and Valle de Guadalupe (Mexican Wine Country) which took place over the past two years. However, I will post some photos from these culinary and enological adventures and give you some fun tips and impressions from each spot.

But!!! Not to worry, as coming soon I will have for you two fun new posts:

First: Mom and I Try Making Timpano Alla Big Night
Second: Vineyard Tours and Tasting with Winemakers at Outpost and Cade Wineries on Howell Mountain in Napa.

And in the not-so-distant future, Josh and I will keep you up on all the food and wine debauchery as we take a month-long journey through the cuisine and vineyards of France. That should be phenomenal.

Can’t wait to share it with you!

Yours in gluttony,
Gina
